Swan Lake: “All Fires” (download)
Hey kids, do you like Spencer Krug (Frog Eyes, Sunset Rubdown, Wolf Parade)? How about Carey Mercer (Frog Eyes)? Oh, and what about Dan Bejar (Destroyer, New Pornographers)? If you answered “yes” to 1-3 of those questions, you’re in luck. The MP3 blogging world is atwitter with the recent news that the three of them are collaborating on a project called Swan Lake. Their LP, titled Beast Moans, will be out November 12. You can read about it here. “All Fires” is the first song to be released to the world, and sounds pretty much like what I would imagine it would sound like if you stuck Frog Eyes, Wolf Parade and Destroyer in a blender and a CD popped out of it. In other words: awesome. It looks like the boys will be sharing vocal duty — there’s another song on the band’s still fresh out of the package myspace profile called “The Freedom,” that features Bejar on vocals, and sounds more like the songs off of Destroyer’s Rubies. In other words: still awesome.

Update: there’s now a third track on their myspace profile, “The Partisan But He’s Got To Know,” that sounds completely different from the other two — but still what you’d expect from a Frog Eyes/Wolf Parade/Destroyer collab. (And still awesome.)
