Pavarotti did a lot of pop projects – some better than others. Though they may not have been very successful from a critical standpoint, I like the idea of mixing classical audiences with pop audiences, exposing them to each other. It reminds me of the Wordless Music Series. There’s too much needless disdain between the genres. Sadly enough, I think my favorite of these performances is this one with James Brown, “It’s A Man’s World.” (if you have an MP3, do send it: taylor@t-sides.com)
