Perhaps because he lived so close to us, my friends and I preferred "Glass Houses" over Springsteen's "The River". It was a continuous war of words between the really cool kids (Springsteen fans) and us (Joel fans). I must say, it wasn't easy to blare "Zanzibar" out of the window as your cruising down main street. He also made new wave mainstream with "It's still Rock n Roll to Me... Ah.. good times.
