To be honest though Robbie Williams butchered a Charlatans classic as well so it's not limited. The Kasabian thing, I'm not really sure how big they need to be. They are massive in Europe and doing 5,000 seaters in Toronto. To be honest they got more exposure opening for Oasis a tour ago and will probably head out with them again this summer.

I just think Ronson is a hack. Now look there have been good smiths covers and I am by no means a smiths purist, but they sucked all of the soul and life from the song and made it a vapid dancefloor ditching disco track. I think mark needs to learn that pressing play on the presets of a kasio does not constitute creation.

I know a lot of Smiths fans who are with you on the Smiths cover, though I liked it, particularly how he combined it with the Supremes song.

For someone like Kasabian, though, I think it can only help them - they're pretty small, and Ronson is more high profile. If someone liked the remix, perhaps they'll check out Kasabian.

Some of the do-overs are pretty good, I think - "Toxic," for example, is completely out of left field.

I think Mark is a tocuh to full of himself. The way he brutalised the smiths was one thing but his completely unimaginative remix of kasabian was a bridge too far. it's camp and not in an enjoyable way, say like the scissor sisters. This is when producers get miles ahead of themselves. Thank god lilly allen isn't going to be working with him on his next album. Also anyone who threatens to send robbie williams off to beat up his critics with any sense of irony needs to have their throat slashed.
