If you have healthy college radio station that supports local talent..it is helpful. Personally I would rather support and go see the wonderful talent we have here rather that national acts. they are more talented many times with more fire in the belly. And last year I wasn't in the state, and the year before that no one wanted to go with me so I didn't go (even though Ted Leo was playing! Damnit!). The New York Dolls also played an awesome set at Little Stevens Underground Garage Festival a few years ago. One of the best acts I've seen live regardless of the minimal number of original members. You should have stuck around for them. At least you made it to Siren Fest…I was stuck at work all day.
