While I was never a big fan of Cube myself, I agree with Chang's efforts to base part of his book around Cube's transition. He had several tracks around this time, with "It Was A Good Day" being perhaps the most popular, that really touched on social commentary and attempted to usher in dialogue. It's unfortunate that he slipped into the whole "We Be Clubbin" thing after this. Jeff Chang’s book is a classic hip-hop masterpiece.
